Music and Moto Fans from Across the Country to Converge at Inaugural California Bike Week

Pomona, CA (PRWEB) October 15, 2007

Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famer Gregg Allman, in addition to an all-star band with surprise guests, will be rockin’ the house at this year’s 24th Annual Love Ride at California Bike Week™ — a three-day motorcycle and music event roaring into the Fairplex in Pomona, California. A packed schedule of rockin’ events starts on Friday, November 9, and ends Sunday, November 11 with the 24th annual Love Ride® — the largest one-day motorcycle fundraising event in the world.

Thousands of motorsports enthusiasts will join Love Ride® Grand Marshal Jay Leno at the first annual California Bike Week™ — a premier motorcycling experience held in one of the most motorsports-friendly cities on the West Coast. This exciting event will feature:

Debut of The Pacific Coast Nationals flat track races Saturday night featuring the Harley-Davidson® Wrecking Crew and notable racers of AMA fame. This event is open to all pro-level competitors, American and metric.

Music and festivities each day
Exhibitions by the Victor McLaglen Motor Corps Stunt Team
Freestyle stunt demonstrations by Jason Pullen
Demo rides provided by top motorcycle manufacturers
Enthusiast trade show with hundreds of quality vendors, including the interactive Harley-Davidson® Village and traveling museum
Sunday’s 24th annual Love Ride,® and Gregg Allman/celebrity concert benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Reading by 9 and Cure Autism Now
Huge complimentary barbecue for Love Riders
free parking all weekend for all motorcyclists.

For the first time, the popular, 24th annual Love Ride will be tied in with an entertainment event saluting a wide spectrum of motosports fans. “Tying in this year’s Love Ride 24 with California Bike Week allows us to maximize support for both,” said Oliver Shokouh, owner of Glendale Harley and founder of the Love Ride®. “Our intention is to create a destination bike event that rivals Daytona or Sturgis, while continuing to grow support for the charities assisted by our Love Ride Foundation.”

On November 11th, Annual Love Ride 24 will begin at 6:00 a.m. when an expected 20,000 riders will finish registration while being entertained by the band “Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries”. At 9:00 am, bikers will then head north through Glendale on Brand Boulevard, then turn onto the 134 freeway to the Pomona Fairplex. There, riders will enjoy a complimentary BBQ lunch and beverages, then sit back and enjoy an afternoon of rock and blues supplied by the legendary Gregg Allman.

Big surprises are in store for people who attend this year’s event, including special guests performing songs from the very first “Friends of Love Ride 24″ CD. This new compilation includes original songs by recording artists Andy Summers (The Police), Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Jackson Browne, Jeff Healey, and an all-star cast of others including: Robbie Krieger (The Doors), Todd Smallwood (Mick Fleetwood Band), Jack Mack (America’s #1 Rock n’ Soul band), Brian Ray (Paul McCartney), Too Slim and the Taildraggers (currently in Billboard’s Top Ten), and more.

Glendale Harley owner Oliver Shokouh founded the Love Ride twenty-four years ago as a way to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy and local children’s charities. Since then, the Love Ride Foundation has given over $ 20 million to organizations, supported by such celebrities as Malcom Forbes, Peter Fonda, David Crosby, Billy Idol, Bruce Springsteen, the Doobie Brothers and Sammy Hagar.

“California Bike Week™ is an event for every motorcycle enthusiast, whether they ride, race or just like to watch — whether you’re into Harleys, Hondas, dirt bikes, sport bikes or cruisers. It also offers a rare chance to get up-close to top celebrities and join together for a great cause,” says John Buck, California Bike Week’s™ new Executive Director. Thanks to several new partnerships and strategic alliances there’s a new route, a new venue and a new sense of purpose to the world’s largest one-day motorcycle charity event.

General Admission tickets are priced at $ 20/day, including admission to all stunt shows, general entertainment, admission to the trade show/vendor area, and complimentary motorcycle parking. Tickets that also include admission to the AHDRA Drag Races (Friday and Saturday), and Pacific Coast Nationals (Saturday only) are available starting at $ 30. Fortuna Releases Digital Music Player for Classical Fans

Fortuna Releases Digital Music Player for Classical Fans

San Diego, Calif. (PRWEB) May 22, 2006

Fortuna Classical Music has released Maestro, the first digital music player designed for classical music. Maestro is the only music player that can correctly classify and organize a large collection of classical music. Maestro is capable of holding the music of over 3600 CDs and includes high-resolution scans of full CD booklets, not just cover art. General Director and Artistic Director of the San Diego Opera, Ian Campbell, has been using Maestro for the last 6 months and says,

“Maestro has completely changed how I listen to classical music. I love comparing different versions of the same aria, which was difficult with all my CDs. Maestro makes this amazingly easy… For the first time in years I spent the entire weekend sitting on my couch just listening.”

Maestro was developed in response to the classical music shortcomings of other digital music players. Founder and CEO Bill Stensrud says,

“In the past, all digital music players were designed for pop music fans. When I tried to put my classical music on those players it was tagged so poorly, I couldn’t find anything… We developed Maestro because I love classical music and none of the other digital music players had a clue how to deal with a classical collection.”

About Fortuna Classical Music

Fortuna Classical Music is a privately held, San Diego based company dedicated to the technological and social advancement of classical music. Co-founders Evan Schumacher and Ross Stensrud met as engineering students at the University of California at San Diego and began the company to address the unique challenges faced by classical music collectors sidelined by technology designed for the pop music majority.
