Demon’s Cycle Announce New Custom Frame for Harley Twin Cam 88 Driveline

Demon’s Cycle Announce New Custom Frame for Harley Twin Cam 88 Driveline

Custom Rolling Chassis built for TwinCam 88 Engine.

Pompano Beach, FL (Vocus) September 9, 2010

Demon’s Cycle Inc., the well known custom motorcycle company based in Florida, is pleased to announce the availability of the Softail ProStreet 250 custom motorcycle frame. This new frame, which is made in the USA for use with wide tires, is specially designed for the Harley-Davidson 1450CC Twin Cam 88B engine.

The 80′s and 90′s were dominated by Harley’s Evolution engine and and their Big Twin bikes. Naturally, custom motorcycle designs centered around the dominate Evo engine. But as the new century started Harley-Davidson released a new engine, a twin cam engine, with a bigger displacement and a radical new design. After some further refinement, the Twin Cam 88B has become the most popular engine for Softails. However this left custom bike builders one step behind as virtually all the custom frames were made to accept the Harley Evolution drive train.

But now Demon’s Cycle are helping to open a new page in custom bike building and help the next generation of bike builders use the 88B in their creations. The Softail ProStreet 250 frame, which includes a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO), is a unique frame designed specifically for use with Harley’s 1450CC Twin Cam 88B engines.

The features of this frame are impressive: softail suspension, a 40 degree rake and heavy-duty tubing. The quality is also first class with the motor mount milled by computed numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools and TIG welds used on all the major points.

“Custom frames made for TC88 engines are next to impossible to find and often cost more than their Evo counterparts” said Tom Steinbacher, the founder of Demon’s Cycle. “But with our new frame, custom bike builders can now use contemporary engines without having to resort to adapter brackets.”

This new frame heralds a new chapter for custom motorcycle builders and removes the worries of using yesteryear’s technology and the risks associated with hard to find custom parts.

30 Day Cover Note Takes Eight Years

30 Day Cover Note Takes Eight Years

Peter Cook of HIC looks at 8-year-old cover note close up

(Vocus) November 5, 2008

Car insurance specialist HIC (Herts Insurance Consultants) had a shock recently when a cover note it had sent out was returned undelivered by the Royal Mail – eight years after it had been posted!

The original envelope was postmarked 1st November 2000 and was returned, marked ‘address unknown’, on 15th October 2008.

“I wouldn’t mind, but we sent it first class,” says HIC’s Peter Cook. “As it happens this was just a 30-day temporary cover note,” he adds. “Let’s hope we don’t get the customer’s policy documents back in next week’s post.”

HIC specialises in classic and modified cars, particularly minis and VWs, and this document was for a classic VW Golf. “I wonder how old the cover note itself has to be before it can be classified as a classic?” Peter Cook asks, more out of curiosity than anything. “I’m sure it’s collectible – maybe we better get it insured!”

Times have changed – though maybe not so much. Back in 2000 the HIC strapline was ‘Economise without compromise’. “Given the current economic climate that’s an angle we might want to start pushing again!” he adds wryly.

However – eight years on – the way insurance is arranged has also changed.

“The cover note isn’t really needed any more,” says Peter Cook. “I remember the days when brokers might have to issue five or six cover notes before the final annual certificate arrived from the insurance company.

“These days we can issue an annual certificate in the office the very same day that the insurance is taken out. So this cover note is a little piece of history.”

HIC is the enthusiast’s car insurer with a passion for motoring that translates into great deals on car insurance. For more information visit http://www.hertsinsurance.com or call 08451 290290.

HawgNews.com – An Online Exhaust System For Bikers

HawgNews.com – An Online Exhaust System For Bikers

Cranberry Township, PA (PRWEB) April 15, 2005

What if you could find out about which Harley-Davidson accessory will turn out to be a waste of your money… before you spent your hard-earned dough? What if you could have someone test-drive a pair of motorcycle riding boots that will turn out to be uncomfortable at times… so that you won’t suffer from blisters on your ankles? HawgNews.com is now online, and its goal is to decrease buyer’s remorse within the biker and chopper communities. Harley-Davidson aficionados and riders considering the purchase of motorcycle accessories and components need not wait for local biker nights or rallies to seek performance review from other riders.

Sure, you can just pick up the last issue of your favorite motorcycle magazine if you are looking for information on a newly-released component, model or accessory – but where do you go when looking for an opinion about a 1992 Sportster? Launched four weeks ago, HawgNews.com makes it possible for bikers across America to submit their candid reviews about motorcycle equipment – be it new or previously owned – and thus express their satisfaction (or lack there of) with models built by several manufacturers. Filled with reader-submitted assessments, the site aims to build the most comprehensive database of reviews on Harley-Davidson and custom motorcycles, parts and accessories.

Each critique includes the writer’s rants and raves on an item’s overall quality. So far, the evaluations cover a wide range of products; from riding boots to motorcycle exhaust systems. HawgNews.com is the latest addition to the Gear Review Network – a group of sites that seeks to educate potential buyers in a variety of industries through information posted by consumers who have already purchased a model.

Chris Bereznay, President of the Gear Review Network, came up with the idea for HawgNews.com while realizing that there was a shortage of bike-related sites with reviews posted by other fellow riders, and not by a magazine’s editor: “The truth is that many magazines may not want to dedicate their resources to write about a 1992 Sportster or a pair of riding boots. It was challenging to find a place where I could find a large variety of reviews written by your ‘average Joe’, covering anything from the latest exhaust system models, all the way to older Harley-Davidson bikes that can now only be found in the ‘previously-used’ market, with details on how the item performs under everyday conditions. I love bikes myself and, since I have access to the technology, HawgNews.com came to be.”

Other interesting articles are also part of the content of the site, such as stories on the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, tips on getting a loan for your next motorcycle purchase, news on the upcoming Myrtle Beach Bike Week 2005, etc. The siteÂ?s Â?Biker DiscussionÂ? forum lets bikers interact about a variety of topics, including questions and answers on how to shop for your first bike and information on upgrading or customizing your ride.

As a “kick-off” to celebrate its launch, HawgNews.com is offering a “giveaway” contest that is running until May 31st, 2005. Readers who submit a review of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, part or accessory will be entered to win a $ 200 shopping spree at J&P Cycles.

Eddie Van Halen Hosts Burlesque Party For House Of Petals Anniversary

Eddie Van Halen Hosts Burlesque Party For House Of Petals Anniversary

Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) October 7, 2006

Eddie Van Halen played solo and hosted an anniversary party at Hollywood’s House of Petals floral studio that also featured a lingerie burlesque show featuring Harlottique, a burlesque dance group. Van Halen’s single song set was the second time in three months he has shown up to play at the floral studio owned by his friend, actress Joey House. The October 4th event also featured a musical performance from 1980′s rap star Ton Loc.

The presence of Ton Loc and Eddie Van Halen at the same party fueled speculation about a joint performance that night with Van Halen playing guitar to Loc’s vocals. That speculation ended when Van Halen left the stage after one instrumental song, ending his show for the night.

Ton Loc then took the stage for several songs that included his signature hits “Funky Cold Medina” and “Wild Thing”, sans Eddie Van Halen.

Beverly Hills People staff were on hand to cover this event. Visitors to Beverly Hills People can view photos and video taken of the party.

As questions loom about the future about Eddie Van Halen’s namesake band, the famous guitarist continues to pursue his own solo music projects, including recent efforts scoring adult movies and making plans for a solo album.

Beverly Hills People is an online lifestyle publication featuring luxury real estate, fashion, entertainment, and restaurants.

Visa Lighting Fixtures Featured at Harley Davidson Museum Complex

Visa Lighting Fixtures Featured at Harley Davidson Museum Complex

Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) July 31, 2008

In addition to a substantial catalog product line, Visa Lighting, a leading manufacturer of architectural lighting, provides clients with custom product design and build services. Project specifiers utilizing Visa Lighting’s Custom product and Variation services have greater control over design intent and lighting output requirements. With lead times comparable to many manufacturers’ standard product ship schedules the Visa Lighting Custom and Standard Variation product services offer signature products in a timely manner. This expertise in custom products led the HGA design team to select Visa Lighting to complement the unique architectural design of the Harley Davidson Museum.

An industrial architectural design, the Harley Davidson Museum complex required performance fixtures and decorative luminaries. Working directly with the project designers, Visa Lighting designed and built performance sconces ranging in lengths from 4 to 12 feet, illuminated “cubes” for the museum grounds, and decorative custom pendants. Also installed on the project is the Visa Lighting AdvantusTM fixture. Balancing the museum’s architectural attributes, glass walls, dark brick and exposed beams, with the common steel and black lighting fixture features, Visa Lighting successfully melded building design with exhibits and displays.

This link between architectural design and the museum’s exhibits is most evident in the Visa custom pendants. Guests are met by the silhouette of a motorcycle once owned by Evel Knievel and the Visa Lighting custom cylinder pendants. The aesthetic concept of the sixty inch cylinder fixture is a bologna cut tailpipe, perforated to allow a soft, ambient glow of light from the PAR lamp. These decorative pendants match the industrial theme of the museum and mimics bike components housed in the museum’s exhibits.

Three buildings, two restaurants, a gift shop, and spacious event areas, the museum is much more than just motorcycles. It is a celebration the Harley Davidson company history and the passion of its riders. “We had literally thousands of people who put their heart and soul into this place. They wanted to be sure we got it exactly right, and I think we did,” said museum director Stacey Schiesl.

Visa Lighting, a Milwaukee based company, is honored to be part of the cultural institution that is the Harley Davidson Museum.

About AdvantusTM:

AdvantusTM sets the standard for aesthetics in a tubular fixture. Utilizing Visa Lighting FP Optics, AdvantusTM possesses uniform illumination; 98% reflective Miro Silver reflectors for maximum efficiency.

About Visa Lighting:

Since its establishment in 1943, Visa Lighting Corporation has purveyed the highest quality, most innovative products available to the specification grade lighting market. Visa Lighting capitalized on growth opportunities to become the leader in decorative architectural lighting products. Located in Milwaukee, WI, Visa Lighting became the flagship company of the Oldenburg Group in 1982.
